8. CONTROLS FOR DO-NOT-TRACK FEATURES

Most web browsers and some mobile operating systems and mobile applications include a Do-Not-Track ("DNT") feature or setting you can activate to signal your privacy preference not to have data about your online browsing activities monitored and collected. At this stage no uniform technology standard for recognizing and implementing DNT signals has been finalized. As such, we do not currently respond to DNT browser signals or any other mechanism that automatically communicates your choice not to be tracked online. If a standard for online tracking is adopted that we must follow in the future, we will inform you about that practice in a revised version of this privacy notice.

Marketplace Order Fulfillment (eBay) — Privacy Addendum

In addition to our general Privacy Policy above, the following describes how Smart Home By Design handles personal data received when you purchase from us on a marketplace such as eBay. We use this data only to fulfill your order.

What we receive

When you buy from us on eBay, we receive from eBay: your eBay username; your name and shipping address; order details (items, quantities, prices, and order/shipping identifiers); and the carrier tracking number we generate for your shipment. We do not receive or store your payment card details — payment is handled entirely by eBay.

How we use it

Solely to fulfill your order: to pick and pack the correct items, purchase and print a shipping label addressed to you, hand the parcel to the carrier, and report the tracking number back to eBay so you can follow your shipment. We do not sell or share your personal data, and we do not use it for advertising.

Who we share it with

Only the parties needed to deliver your order: eBay (to retrieve the order and report shipment/tracking) and the shipping carrier (e.g. USPS, to print a label and deliver the parcel). We ship only to the contiguous United States and APO/FPO (military) addresses.

Retention

We keep order and shipping information for as long as needed to fulfill the order and to meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations. After that, records are minimized or deleted.

eBay account deletion / closure

We honor eBay's Marketplace Account Deletion/Closure process. When eBay notifies us that a user has closed their account or requested deletion, we automatically purge that person's personal information — username, name, and shipping address — from our systems, retaining only non-personal transactional records (such as item and amount) where required for accounting.
